Dad relaxing at home the day after his first treatment. So far so good! Dad is a trooper!

  1. Spent that day with Dad, Mom, Rebecca and Margaret. Dad was pretty tired but we had some good stories and lots of smiles. Dad's hospice nurse Mary and his social worker came by. We had a nice visit and shared a few stories with them. It came up that Dad is a recovering alcoholic and he said he hadn't had a drink in over 28 years and told a little about his intervention. Shortly after this the social worker looked at dad and said,"You are a hero". Those words rang so true! Daddy is a hero and his courage and spirit during this time is such an example to me. I am so proud of him and he will always be my hero

  2. I echo that, Jennifer - he is my hero too. I am so thankful for the time we have shared as a family this past month. Daddy has been such a blessing to us all and still teaching his children by his example. I am so thankful God gave him to us all!!!
